Church
History
For
more than 150 years, the Church of God has had a witness in Six Mile Run. John Winebrenner was founder of our denomination.
In 1830, he began the first churches near Harrisburg. George Linninger led revivals throughout the Broad Top in the 1840's.
His efforts resulted in six churches, five of which remain today. One of them is ours. Throughout the intervening years, there
have been faithful men and women of God who have labored in this vineyard. The present bethel is the third in a line of houses
of worship built and sustained by those who have gone before.
